Official: Politics not to change Finland’s attitude to N Stream-2

MOSCOW, Apr 10 (PRIME) -- Political problems will not change Finland’s last week’s decision to allow construction of Russian gas pipeline Nord Stream-2 in its exclusive economic zone, Ambassador Mikko Hautala told reporters on Tuesday.

“We will act only under the current law. I do not see any changes there. There is (European) solidarity but there is law as well. I think that our attitude to this case is defined by the law,” Hautala said.

The Nord Stream-2 project envisages construction of two lines of a natural gas pipeline with an annual capacity of up to 55 billion cubic meters, running from the Russian shore to Germany under the Baltic Sea. Russian gas giant Gazprom will implement the project together with its European partners – Shell, OMV, Engie, Uniper, and Wintershall.
